dev hazrat phalke

Hazrat Mohammed Siddique Falke was a Muslim devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba, also known as Haji Mohammed Siddique Falke. His story of seeking Baba's grace is prominently featured in the Shri Sai Satcharitra, the holy book recounting Sai Baba's life and teachings.

Details about Hazrat Falke:
  • Devotional journey: Initially, Falke faced difficulties in gaining an audience with Sai Baba. He waited in the Chavadi for nine months, attempting in vain to enter the Dwarkamai masjid where Baba resided. He eventually sought the help of Shama, another close devotee of Sai Baba, who interceded on his behalf.
  • Spiritual lesson: Sai Baba's apparent reluctance was part of a spiritual lesson to test and purify Falke's devotion. Once he finally received Baba's attention, he was subjected to a series of tests that revealed esoteric truths about spiritual surrender and detachment from worldly desires.
  • Symbolism of surrender: During one of these encounters, Baba posed a series of symbolic questions, such as whether Falke would be willing to give up large sums of money, representing deeper layers of consciousness. With each question, Falke responded with total surrender, affirming that all he wanted was to remain at Baba's feet.
  • Path to liberation: Baba ultimately blessed Falke's devotion with grace. The encounter served as a powerful lesson on the importance of complete surrender to the divine to achieve liberation.
  • Burial and legacy: Falke continued to visit Shirdi frequently throughout his life
Baba ask Shama to ask Phalke whether he will carefully walk the straigth and narrow path that goes beyond th "Barvi Well."Siddique Phalke answers that whatever difficulty he may encounter he will carefully tread that path.
The next question was "Will you give me 40000 Rs. in 4 installments?" To which Siddique Phalke answers,"I will gladly give 40,00000 (forty Lakhs) if asked. What then of thousands? Only let me be at his feet."
Then he takes 55 rupees from his pocket and counting them one by one he places them in Phalke's hands.
The 3rd question that Baba asks is - "What part of the sacrifial goat would he like to eat? Does he wants to eat the meat covered bones or is his heart set on eating the sex organs?" Baba wants to make sure that he has no Ashwath of any kind left. Be it for delectable food or sensual appetite. Siddique Phalke's answer is incredible. He states that if Baba wishes to give him anything he would cherish a crumb from the Kolambah.
